B. Prepare the Work
Like a sous chef in a fine restaurant, on some more complicated projects
we perform the preliminary work before involving the specialist, thus achieving
the savings of focusing and limiting the specialist’s time in
the matter to their truly unique contribution. The less specialist time
in the matter, the more you save.
Examples of areas in which we typically prepare
the work before involving specialists:
Employee benefits – ERISA
compliance, health and welfare plan maintenance, 401(k) administration,
non-qualified deferred compensation plans, post-retirement medical plans
Environmental – air and wastewater permitting, groundwater remediation, hazardous waste disposal
Immigration – foreign employee visas, Green Cards
Intellectual Property – patent and trademark acquisition and maintenance
Mergers & Acquisitions – due diligence, employee transition issues in larger deals, negotiating and drafting
Real estate – pre-closing management of appraisers, brokers, environmental consultants
“Having managed litigation world-wide for two decades, I have had the opportunity to engage some of the very best attorneys. Mr. Joyner is not just one of the ten best lawyers in the Charlotte area, he is one of the most talented lawyers I have had the privilege to work with anywhere.
Mr. Joyner has a keen sense of how a case should be handled; he works
efficiently and cost-effectively; he vigorously represents his client;
and he is respected by judges and opposing attorneys as a person of high
ethics and abundant integrity. Matt Joyner is a truly stellar attorney.”
